Introducing “Girls Music Club”

(Raffaella Mezzanzanica – August 4, 2020)

Since February, we’ve all been facing tough times. Today, the world has a new shape and it seems like our freedom has been taken away by this pandemic.

We had to stay home, and, for many months we had no possibility even to go out for a walk. We haven’t been able to go to work, to enjoy our passions and those who have families haven’t been able even to play with their children in the open air.

On the other hand, we have realized that we are connected more than ever, that we are a community and that we are positively globalized, more than we’ve ever thought.

We have understood the importance of the basic things as much as we have understood that our passions can lead us through good times and bad times.

And those of us who, in one way or another, are connected to music or to arts generally speaking, have to deal with incredible losses.

This virus has taken away incredible artists, jobs and has almost taken away the passion.

Almost!

We all believe in the power of music and we all believe there’s nothing more universal than the language of music.

This is the reason why I have decided to start a new project called “Girls Music Club”, whose aim not only is to give a voice to new and emerging female musicians and songwriters but also to new and emerging female sound engineers, lighting engineers, video makers, photographers etc.

And I have decided to launch it in English because English is a universal language, as much as the music we all listen to and because I really wanted to make this content available to as many people as possible.

I would like to thank those friends who are contributing to make this project come true: my music family at Musicalmind (because “Girls Music Club” just like “Girls United!” will be part of Musicalmind), my friend and amazing music producer Andres Mesa and all the women I’m going to meet along the way and who will take the time to talk to me and to tell me their stories.

I’m so, so excited to start!!!

And remember…”the road goes on forever and the party never ends!”
