Tra le molteplici registrazioni pirata dei concerti dei Creedence Clearwater Revival, di sicura la più famosa, nonché la più ricercata dai fans del quartetto californiano sparsi in tutto il mondo, è quella della magica serata del 14 aprile 1970 al Royal Albert Hall di Londra, tempio della musica e della cultura.
Il gruppo era in tournée in Europa, il 12 aprile si era esibito ad Essen nella West Germany, ed a Londra si esibirono per due serate (14 e 15 aprile) registrando il sold-out in entrambi i concerti.
Recuperato da una trasmissione radiofonica (e quindi con una buona qualità del suono), questo CD mostra i Creedence in stato di grazia, con un feeling ed un affiatamento ai limiti della perfezione ed una carrellata di canzoni tra le migliori dell’America di fine anni ’60.
A dimostrazione del successo e della popolarità del gruppo anche sul suolo inglese, vanno ricordati i 16 minuti di applausi e ovazioni al termine di questo concerto.
Questa registrazione è stata ristampata nel corso degli anni su diversi cd, ma mai in forma ufficiale; del concerto del 14 aprile esiste anche una buona registrazione video e diversi sono i Dvd pubblicati.
Alcuni anni fa si era parlato di una pubblicazione ufficiale del concerto tramite la storica casa editrice Fantasy, per la gioia dei moltissimi fans del gruppo, ma poi non se ne è fatto più niente.
Ricordiamo inoltre che nel 1980 era stato pubblicato un LP dalla stessa Fantasy con il titolo di “The Royal Albert Hall Concert” salvo poi modificare il titolo del disco semplicemente in “The Concert” in quanto, per un madornale errore dei tecnici della casa editrice, la registrazione era relativa al concerto del gennaio 1970 a Oakland. Divenne comunque disco di platino superando 1.000.000 di copie vendute

Among the many pirated recordings of the Creedence Clearwater Revival concerts, certainly the most famous, and the most sought after by fans of the Californian quartet scattered all over the world, is that of the magical evening of April 14, 1970 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, temple of music and culture.
The group was on tour in Europe, on April 12 had performed in Essen in West Germany, and in London they performed for two evenings (April 14 and 15) recording the sold-out in both concerts.
Recovered from a radio broadcast (and therefore with good sound quality), this CD shows Creedence in a state of grace, with a feeling and a harmony at the limits of perfection and a rundown of songs among the best in America at the end of the years ’60.
To demonstrate the success and popularity of the group on English soil, the 16 minutes of applause and ovations at the end of this concert should be remembered.
This recording has been reprinted over the years on several CDs, but never in an official form; there is also a good video recording of the April 14 concert and several DVDs are published.
A few years ago there was talk of an official publication of the concert through the historic Fantasy publishing house, to the delight of the many fans of the group, but then nothing was done.
We also recall that in 1980 an LP was released by Fantasy itself with the title of “The Royal Albert Hall Concert” only to then change the title of the disc simply to “The Concert” as, due to a huge mistake by the publishing house technicians, the recording was for the January 1970 concert in Oakland. However, it became platinum, exceeding 1,000,000 copies sold
