Il prossimo 4 novembre verranno pubblicate 3 nuove versioni di Scarecrow, l’album di John Mellencamp pubblicato nel 1985: Super Deluxe, 2CD e LP. Il disco originale è stato remixato e rimasterizzato ed è stato aggiunto un secondo CD con tracce rare o inedite.
Il nuovo materiale include due canzoni inedite (“Carolina Shag” e “Smart Guys”), tre versioni con rough mixes (“Lonely Ol’ Night”, “R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A” e “Minutes to Memories”), tre demos (“Between a Laugh and a Tear”, “Rumbleseat” e “Small Town”), due b-sides (con le cover di due brani che hanno influenzato Scarecrow: “Under the Boardwalk” dei Drifters e “Cold Sweat” di James Brown), e un’altra cover, questa volta inedita, “Shama Lama Ding Dong” originariamente eseguita dalla fictional band Otis Day And The Knights nel film Animal House (con John Belushi, 1978).
