Creedence Clearwater Revival – Live at Inglewood Forum – Los Angeles Forum 1970

(Angelo Maggioni – 10 giugno 2020)

Siamo a Los Angeles, esattamente all’ Inglewood Forum il 29 agosto.

After reviewing two bootlegs recorded in 1969, it’s now up to a 1970 concert.
We are in Los Angeles, exactly at the Inglewood Forum on August 29th. The group is now at the height of its success, after the three discs released in 1969 and a month after the release of a true masterpiece such as “Cosmo’s Factory” (July 1970).
Creedence are on tour with their “Bizarre World Tour”, which will touch all the most important cities in the States, which started in Dallas on July 10 and ended on September 19 in Toronto. Most dates on this tour will have Booker T and the MG’s support group.
The schedule of the concert includes several excerpts from the last work “Cosmo’s Factory”, to be mentioned in particular “I Heard it Through the Grapevine”, performed rather rarely live by the group, and “Ooby Dooby”, perhaps the only testimony live available of this song.
The disc features a close-knit group, with a great job by Stu Cook and Doug Clifford on bass and drums, and a perfect Tom Fogerty to support his brother John’s raids.
The CD in question appears to be produced by the Rock Rare Collection Fetish, which perhaps could have better taken care of the mixing between the various tracks.
